Mar M247 round bars are tough, nickel-based superalloys designed to thrive in extreme high-temperature and high-stress situations. They’re celebrated for their impressive creep resistance, oxidation stability, and mechanical strength, making them top performers in aerospace, gas turbine, and power generation sectors. Typically, the composition of Mar M247 round bars features Nickel as the primary element, along with Chromium (8–10%), Cobalt (9–10%), Tungsten (9–10%), Aluminum (5.5–6%), Titanium (0.5–1%), and Tantalum (3–4%). They also contain trace amounts of Carbon, Boron, and Zirconium to boost grain boundary strength. This alloy boasts a tensile strength of about 1000–1200 MPa and remarkable creep rupture strength at temperatures reaching up to 980°C. The high levels of aluminum and titanium encourage the formation of a stable gamma-prime phase, which enhances both thermal and mechanical stability.
